Geothermal Vélizy-Villacoublay

Project :

The Île de France region is situated above a geothermal aquifer located between 1,500 and 2,000 meters deep called the Dogger. This aquifer contains water with a temperature between 57°C and 85°C. As a result, several geothermal projects have been developed since the 1970s. The city of Vélizy-Villacoublay decided to exploit this natural and renewable source of heat, and the Véligéo project was therefore born.

Description :

Since February 2020, NEO2 has been supporting this project from drilling to the construction of the geothermal power plant.

• Carry out and coordinate preliminary studies in order to deliver clear and precise specifications for subcontractors
• Launch calls for tenders for the different lots, analyze bids, hold clarification meetings, and select subcontractors
• Coordinate subcontracting companies in the study and construction phases to successfully carry out the drilling by managing co-activities, safety, deadlines, and costs in order to complete the project while respecting the safety of everyone and the environmental issues related to the Dogger

Hydrogen

Project :

In a strategy to prepare for the energy future, hydrogen can support decarbonization in the industrial, transportation, electricity generation, and construction sectors across Europe. This energy, which is still less developed and mature, is expanding rapidly and giving rise to a multitude of new projects, including the HyPSTER Project.
HyPSTER, or Hydrogen Pilot STorage for large Ecosystem Replication, is the first green hydrogen storage project in a saline cavity. Located in the Ain department, this pilot project has a very concrete objective: to make it an industrial solution to support the development of the hydrogen sector throughout Europe.

Description :

Since June 2020, NEO2 has been supporting the project owner.

• Carry out sizing studies on electrolyzers as well as on the demineralization process up to storage, including purification and compression
• Manage the Project on the aspects of permitting, ICPE, and PPRTE (Technological Risk Prevention Plan)

Nuclear Power Plant

Project :

Nuclear energy, which is highly developed in France, makes it possible to produce electricity in large quantities and in a very stable way. It is a low-carbon energy source and one of the solutions to meet future environmental challenges.
This production results from the nuclear fission of radioactive materials, a source of heat that creates steam used to turn turbines and thus generate electricity. The Hinkley Point C nuclear power plant is a project to build a power plant with two EPR-type reactors that will take about fifteen years to complete.

Description :

Since 2017, NEO2 has been involved in this project at different levels and on different technical lots :

• Model structural and reinforced concrete elements for the proper assembly of structural elements
• Coordinate calculation and sizing studies for skids (including compressors, tanks, pumps, valves, and instrumentation) in order to select the most relevant skids
• Manage studies on the Rotating Machine lot for the equipment in the various buildings

Méthanation
Recherche et Développement

Research and Development

Project :

To meet the current and future energy challenges, it is also necessary to turn to new energy sources, and several Research and Development projects are exploring the possibilities of innovation and optimization.
This is the case of the GAYA Platform, which is a cutting-edge technological platform studying the production of green gas by the process of methanation and pyrogasification.

Description :

Since 2017, NEO2 has been involved in this project at different levels :

• Determine the quality of syngas obtained by pyrogasification of CSR by developing a material flow analysis model and carrying out a sensitivity study on the composition of CSR when mixed with biomass
• Predict agglomeration phenomena in a fluidized bed using the Factsage software by defining operating parameters, developing a predictive model, and then a database
• Develop research on the pyrogasification process by carrying out new test protocols and then the associated tests and analyses in order to expand the bibliography on the subject
