Projects

Biogas

Project :

Wastewater treatment plants aim to treat urban wastewater before it is discharged into watercourses. They are generally installed at the end of a wastewater collection network (domestic and urban wastewater and, by extension, industrial or agricultural wastewater) and just upstream of the outlet of the water to be treated. The steps are water pretreatment, biological treatment, control and then discharge into the river.

The sewage treatment plant (WWTP) called Seine Aval and located in Achères in the Yvelines is the largest WWTP in Europe and the second largest in the world. One of the sections has the characteristic of producing biogas from the anaerobic digestion of the sludge produced. This biogas helps to meet some of the energy needs of the wastewater treatment plant.

Description :

Since 2014, Neo2 has been involved in this project at different levels and on different technical lots, including the part dedicated to biogas production :

• Writing technical specifications, supplier consultations, management of selected suppliers until delivery on the valves lot representing approximately 2.7 million euros.
• Providing the interface on the different mechanical lots between the study, works and commissioning phases in order to ensure the smooth progress of the project phases in compliance with safety, costs and deadlines.
• Administering the equipment and project database, training and assisting new users, and coordinating in-house teams.

Drinking Water Production/Desalination

Project :

Seawater desalination is an effective means of combating water stress in arid coastal regions. It is also an appropriate means of providing drinking water in areas where natural resources are subject to salinization (rivers, estuaries, inland or underground brackish water, etc.). The two main processes for desalinating seawater are reverse osmosis (a natural and simple water filtration system that allows impurities present in the water to be retained and only water molecules to pass through) and thermal treatment (similar to distillation).

The UMM AL QUWAIN (UAQ) Project is an independent seawater desalination project based on reverse osmosis technology. The plant, as well as the associated intake and discharge facilities, will be developed to produce desalinated water on a coastal site in the Emirate of Umm Al Quwain.

Description :

Since 2020, NEO2 has been involved in this project for the automation lot :

• Produce functional specifications and flowcharts for subcontractors on sludge treatment and chemical addition processes
• Carry out the various factory acceptance tests (Factory Acceptance Test)
• Update technical documents and the PID review

Incineration

Project :

Waste-to-Energy (WTE) plants are a sector for the recovery and treatment of residual household waste. They have an incineration line comprising a furnace, a boiler and a flue gas treatment module. The heat emitted by the furnace heats a water network, thus producing steam. This steam powers a turbine that generates electricity, which is largely consumed directly on site.

The IP13 project consists in the creation of an Organic and Energy Recovery Unit (UVOE) composed of an Energy Recovery Unit (UVE), an Organic Recovery Unit (UVO) and a river platform, in order to replace the current waste incineration plant in Ivry.

Description :

Since 2018, NEO2 has been involved in the IP13 project :

• Writing specifications, calculation notes and sizing equipment on the compressed air lot
• Costing the various equipment and consulting suppliers in order to best meet the project's needs
